Hollis Taggart Galleries is pleased to present a selection of our recent acquisitions of twentieth-century art. The works on view trace the major trendsof American modernism, from the landscapes of Alfred Maurer, to the colorful, jazz-infused abstractions of Stuart Davis, to the Post-war, abstract expressionist paintings of Hans Hofmann, Michael Goldberg, and Theodoros Stamos. In addition, a rare factory scene by Philip Evergood, a series of nautical-industrial views by Ralston Crawford, and a German landscape scene by the American-born, Blaue Reiter artist Albert Bloch, highlight the richness ofearly twentieth-century experimentation. Other featured artists include Romare Bearden, Ilya Bolotowsky, Emil Bisttram, Werner Drewes, Charles Green Shaw, and William Zorach.
